A Boy lost in words 

A boy lost in thoughts, 

A boy that has to learn even through tears. 

A boy who had to jolt back and forth, unable to settle.  

A boy who sees lines for letters.  

A boy who is scared and frightened.  

A boy who never understood belonging.  

A boy that everyone thinks has a cool story.  

A boy that lives and never understands.  

Wanting to belong as if he does,  

But it always feels as if a piece of him is missing.  

A boy who understood that he was unique.  

Unique because not everyone is him.  

Unique because he lived in 4 different countries.  

Unique because he studied 6 languages.  

Unique because no culture feels at home. 

But all just to feel like, 

 all that was lost is never to return. 

 A joke, a cultural reference.  

Never understood because he never settled.  

Trying to merge them.  

The languages, culture, and feeling, 

But I still cannot find the right words to do so. 

As he never understood the lines, and the feeling of belonging.
